Similar to the Toy Story poster, the Spiderman 3 poster does not entail the title of the film, as it is clearly obvious what the film is, what it is about and who the main character is. This poster would intrigue audiences to view the film, as Spiderman is dressed in a black suit as opposed to his traditional red and blue, confusing the audience and luring them to believe the film will entail a twist. The poster is generally a very dark, mysterious poster as opposed to other superhero posters, that are normally action packed, this goes for the more subtle mysterious approach, which would lure different audiences into thinking this is different from other films. The number 3 is also featured in the poster at bottom right of the page, symbolizing the third installment of the film series.
The poster for the newest Batman film follows the codes and conventions of more of a horror genre. Unlike most movie posters, the main character is featured on the poster, however the villain of this film takes the spotlight, as this could be seen as the villain prevailing over the hero, making audiences want to see the film to find out who wins. The dark and subtley horrifying image of the Joker behind glass painting a smile in what is most likely blood informs the audience that this superhero movie is darker and more disturbing than other superhero movies. The quote 'Why so Serious?' The Joker's trademark quote is featured on the poster symbolizing The Joker's dominance and fear. Again the name of the actual film is not mentioned, however the sub heading 'The Dark Knight' suggests that the film is a follow on from the first Batman, as The Joker is in it and the emblem of a bat is featured at the bottom of the poster.

The film Legion follows the more traditional route of just having a movie poster entailing an attractive man holsting a gun looking angrily out into the distance. A typical American approach to an action movie, however it still attracts a large audience as everyone loves a bit of action. Although this poster is not advertised very well, as the film Legion is about angels attacking Earth, and this poster simply looks like another action movie. The poster entails the quote 'TO TAKE OUT THE WICKED' Symbolizing that there are biggget threats in this movie than just other humans. The misty background is complimented well witht the mixture of the two colours gold and blue, gold being positioned on the characters face, making him glow and look manly, whereas the blue is seen at the bottom of the poster highlighting the title of the film. The date again is small yet easily seen, positioned at the bottom left of the poster, in small white font.
Sherlock Holmes, a very succesful British film captivates a brilliant poster in its style and presentation. The film takes on the idea of mystery as the background of the poster is black only accompanied by a white font, blended in with some blue, combining simplicity with a mysterious figure positioned in the centre of the poster. Robert Downey JR is Sherlock and he is positioned in the centre of the poster, therefore recieving all of the attention. The audience are not shownt he whole of the character, as Sherlock Holmes is a detective, and having him shadowed in the poster compliments his detective attributes. He is smoking a pipe, adding to his maturity and upperclass. The release date of the film isn' the best day to release a film, as it is on Christmas Day, no one would go and see a film on Christmas Day. The main actors name is featured in the poster at the top, letting the audience know that the actor is very good and renown.
