PScreens..
Throughout the course I decided to take screen shots of my progress and what I had done to achieve certain tasks during my development.
I had to edit certain parts of the original footage to match up with the song timings and lip syncing. I did this by using the cut tool on final cut pro, this allowed me to delete parts of my footage that were not needed in my video to make it look more realistic.
I also had to re-render the sound on my video, muting the sound in my original footage and replacing it with the song I chose. This allows the song to play smoothly throughout my video without any other annoying noises from my original footage.
Some of this screen shots are mid way through my project.

Editing Prologue..
I have started editing the first 'scene' of my music video. I have edited the first part of the song up until the end of the first chorus. I have been using the programme 'FinalCutPro' to merge the clips together and I also used this programme to add some simple cut effects, to make my project look more professional.
I have used several different camera shots in my first editing scene, as this keeps the video flowing and doesn't become tedious or slow.
I found lip syncing particularly hard, as you first have to lip sync to the song, but then edit the clips to make it look like you were singing throughout the different camera angles. It took time to merge all of the clips together to make the lip syncing look realistic, but I have finally completed the first part of the video.
I will be filming in a seperate location next..

Encountering Problems..
I could not film this weekend, as there was too much snow, and it would have looked ridiculous if I had one cut of a garden with snow, and one without. This was not helpful whatsoever, therefore this delays the completion of my final project.

Letter to The Artist..
This is the letter i devised and sent to the artist Joshua Radin. It addresses what I needed to use his song for, and why I thought it would be appropriate for my music video.
By sending this letter, it first of all asks the artist if I can use this song without claiming the rights to it, or making money from it, and it is polite to ask the artist if you are actually aloud to use his music for your A2 project.
The song I am using is called 'Brand New Day' and it is by the American artist 'Joshua Radin' I am using the song throughout the entirety of my music video, and asking for the rights to do so is simply polite and I cannot get sued for doing so.

Filming Update
This is essentially my last scene...
- Beach (?)
- Chair - Breaking
- Rain (?)
- Everything else
Filming Update
Now that I have got my entire footage I can now start filming on a seperate location, the park.
On the ..... November I started filming the second part of my music video. For this, I simply copied the filming proccess I went through for my first scene, I video'd my self singing in different camera angles much like my first scene.

Filming Update
On the 7th of November I filmed the action parts of the video, basically the dramatic parts of the video where the most action takes place. I have footage of myself attacking a fly as this is the start of the problems that go wrong. The problems start off minor, and then slowly get worse and worse as the song progresses. After the fly incident, woodwork then falls from the top of the summer house where I am singing in front of. This adds a comedic element to my video, as this and the other problems relate to the point of the song. After the woodwork scene, two builders the enter and hammer the wood back onto the house. I then have a short break where I can sing without interruptions, and then a tractor drives straight in front of the camera, and then takes the camera away with him whilst on the tractor, again ruining my music video.

Filming
I started my filming on the 6th of November in mid afternoon, the weather was brilliant for filming as there was no rain or clouds. I started filming the begining of my music video, which is basically 4-6 videos of myself filmed in front of an old summer house in my garden. I felt this to be appropriate as it is a very tranquil and calm atmosphere and background to film on. Also, it is quite and old structure, and in my video, parts fall from the top of the summer house, so again this helps with the atmosphere and the comedy of the video.
The main hurdle I came across whilst filming, was the choice of camera shots, therefore I decided to film myself singing certain parts of the song several times over, to give myself as many camera angles as I could.
On the 6th of November I filmed a fair amount of footage which will help me in the long run with my music video, as everything I filmed can be used for quick cuts in my video when I finally come to edit it.

Planning Update..
So far so good, everything is going according to plan. I have the equipment needed to ensure that my music video will look as proffesional as possible. I have had no problems finding the time to film my video, as I have managed my time well. Weekends are the main point in the week where I can find the time to film my video, however when the weather is nice, I take advantage of filming in the sunlight, as filming in the rain/clouds dampens the mood of my video. Props and actors are something I have not yet come across in my filming stage yet, however I have a number of committed actors who are willing to give up their time to help me film my video.
The only main problem I may meet in the future is the unpredictable weather forcasts, as my video needs to be filmed on a sunny day, as the song is quite a happy song, and the video needs to maintain this joyful mood if it is to fit the criteria for my song.
