Location(s)

Location is obviously essential in order to film my music video, as location can determine the mood and obviously atmosphere of the video. Props and cast will also play a main part in my video, as it makes it more interesting and intriguing.

For my first scene, I will be filming in my garden, the reason for this being the song is supposed to start off happy and tranquil, and by filming in my garden on a bright sunny day really compliments the song's lyrics and tone.

Camera shots: The camera for the most part will be using medium shots, long shots and close ups.

My video consists of short sharp camera shots, all primarily focusing on me, as that is wear all the drama and action happens. The reason for the camera focusing on me for almost the entirety of the video is because it is genuinely my music video I am trying to create.
For the first scene, the video starts by having the camera come up from the grass turning into a medium shot of myself playing the guitar outside my garden shed, as this introduces me as the character and is very personal. The camera then focuses on my outfit, what I am wearing, showing that I have made an effort for this video, camera showing my upper body, showing my facial expression is happiness. The long shot continues as the tramp leaves the shed, snap close up on my face to show myself looking shocked and confused. The camera will then reverse back to a long shot, and myself going back to playing the song.
Ducks then walk across the path of the film, I stand up and look annoyed, a medium shot is then used on me singing, and a tractor stops right in front of the camera, my head appears from the side of the tractor. After this has happened, the camera returns to a long shot, and footballers ruin the last part of the chorus, I stand up and yell at them, I walk up to the camera and go to turn it off, however this cleverly cuts to the next scene.

What will be included in the set is as follows:
  • Garden shed - For myself to be filmed upon
  • A guitar
  • Ducks
  • A tractor
  • A football
  • A wooden chair
  • A small amplifier (will/might be changed)

Now, because my music video takes place in three separate locations, the set will obviously change depending on where the location is.
For my second scene I will be filming on a park bench in a local park with children running around, a typically busy atmosphere, showing that I (being the main character of my video) am trying to find different locations to film that have a lively and happy atmosphere.

Second scene analysis: The scene starts with the end of the first scene, I set up the camera looking like a novice, I put my AMPLIFIER on the bench and start playing. People then sit on the bench, they begin to annoy me, someone spills food on me, I go nuts and go to get up and walk into head first into a swing. The camera goes slow-motion as I fall to the ground, the camera then ends up on the ground where I am, filming me singing, face on the floor. I then get up, camera medium close up, I swear at the kid, (over shoulder shot) the parent is behind the kid, medium shot of the parent walking towards me, close up on my face to show horror, the camera then focuses on me, I run out of the view of the camera and the parent follows, but the camera doesn't.

The set will include:
  • A park bench
  • A guitar
  • Children running around
  • A swing/climbing frames - typical park apparatus
  • Two adults
  • A small amplifier (will/might be changed)

The last scene in my choice of scenery is a beach. The reason for this being, I (in the video) have chosen particularity busy areas to choose to film in, and a beach is the most unpopulated area I can find. There is one single chair on the beach, it looks like nothing can go wrong, the beach is completely empty, it seems like a perfect choice of filming.

Third scene analysis: I fall onto a ledge, holding my face, as I am very stressed out, looking into camera, I look to the side of me, and there is an empty beach with one single white chair lying there. Camera focuses on my face, then the single white chair, I grab the camera, and the other camera follows me down the beach, I trip but maintain balance slow motion is used to show the success I think I will achieve. A long shot is used of me setting up the amp, I give the camera a thumbs up, I am about to sit down to play, and the chair breaks, I sit there and look depressed, camera zooms up to the board I am holding up that says 'Tomorrrow is a Brand New Day'.

The set will include:
  • A guitar
  • A beach chair (white)
  • A small amplifier (will/might be changed)

After the final scene has been shot, and I have given up trying to make my music video, I hold up a sign that says 'Tomorrow will be a Brand New Day' stating that I will not give up on my music video.
